Rolls Royce and Pathfindr

Pathfindr and Rolls Royce have been working together since 2016. We have installed our asset tracking solutions globally with Rolls Royce, in many different business units – including Civil Aerospace, Defence Aerospace, UK Nuclear SMR, Rolls Royce US and more.

Location Applications

Indoor Tracking

Rolls Royce are using Pathfindr’s detectors and beacons to  locate  important  assets  on  site including ACR Cards, Tooling, Stillages and Workstation Books. Tracking is typically done in buildings but can also be used in outdoor settings as well. Asset locations can be tracked on-site or off-site using a combination of Bluetooth, Ultra-Wide Band and GPS technologies.

Global Tracking

Using our GPS units, Rolls Royce can locate their assets nationally and if needed globally. It has a rechargeable 4000mAh battery that can be charged via USB. The battery life can last up to 5 years, depending on the broadcast frequency.

Condition Monitoring Applications

Runtime Vibration Monitoring

Rolls Royce have potentially thousands of legacy assets that do not have telemetry on them, therefore there is no way of telling whether they are being used efficiently or not. In addition, equipment is being maintained on a scheduled basis, rather than based on actual usage.

Pathfindr solves these problems by using vibration monitoring to determine runtime data. Simply place our unit on anything that vibrates, and we can tell you the runtime (how often it is being used). This can also help strengthen the justification for acquiring or divesting assets.

Condition Based Monitoring

Our vibration monitors can also be used to alert managers based on vibration signatures that are abnormal. This therefore helps prevent breakdowns and can be used in conjunction with runtime data.

Additional Condition Monitoring

Room Environmental Monitoring

Monitoring the temperature / humidity levels inside sensitive rooms using detectors and beacons. Set up alerts based on minimum and maximum temperature and humidity thresholds. This is especially useful for server rooms where temperatures need to remain cooler, or areas that require constant temperatures.

Environmental Data
IBC Fluid Level Monitoring

Most IBCs provide volume marks to gauge IBC fill level. These are often hard to read and rely on guesswork. They are also reliant on warehouse staff locating IBC’s.

Our IBC fluid level monitor solves these problems by combining a Bluetooth radar, and a GPS unit in one. This provides you with fluid levels inside the IBC, its location, and also some environmental and motion data as well. It sits on top of your IBC, so is completely non-intrusive.

Smart Factory Expo Talk with Rolls Royce

Find out how we're helping Rolls Royce Civil Aerospace and Defence in tracking and monitoring their assets. Here's a talk that we hosted at the SMART Factory Expo this June with Manufacturing Services Executive James Ayre.

Coming Soon: Safety

Collision Avoidance In Walkways

Alert pedestrians in walkway crossroads when forklifts are passing by. By adapting Zonr Plant Proximity Solution, we can create a visual and audible alert on a screen when forklifts drive by. This adds an additional layer of safety to current safety processes at Rolls Royce.

Collision Monitors On Racking

Our impact monitors can improve the accuracy of reported NCRs on racking from impacts on forklifts. Using impact monitors on storage racking to notify when it has been knocked by piece of plant such as a forklift.

Andon Alert Box

The Pathfindr Alert Box

This has been designed to improve speed and reliability of plant communications. Raise alerts faster for assistance requests, and get better visibility of progress with built-in receipt, response and resolution reporting.
